About me...hmmmm...let's see...I've been drawing since I could pick up a pencil, my parents told me that when I was a year old I would sit in my high chair and draw. Drawing is something that I've just always done; I was the kid in elementary school that the other kids would come to asking me to draw stuff for them.

I enjoy working in all types of different media. In college, I knew I wanted to do something in art, I just wasn't sure what exactly, so I majored in art and took a wide variety of art classes, drawing, painting, sculpture, computer, etc. Since graduation I have moved back to NY, and I have been taking a few continuing ed classes at SVA, and trying to see where I can go with animation. I am so inspired by Japanese anime, there are so many great series that have such good character developement and stories, not to mention the amazing artwork. I have also taken up learning the Japanese language at Yasuragi Center in Mahopac, NY, to further my appreciation of the art and culture of Japan.

Wherever I go, I'll be drawing, and I look forward to seeing where my abilities can go. There is a quote from Hokusai that I really like:

"From the age of six I had a mania for drawing the shapes of things. When I was fifty I had published a universe of designs. But all I have done before the age of seventy is not worth bothering with. At Seventy five I have learned something of the pattern of nature, of animals, of plants, of trees, birds, fish and insects. When I am eighty you will see real progress. At ninety I shall have cut my way deeply into the mystery of life itself. At a hundred I shall be a marvelous artist. At a hundred and ten everything I create, a dot, a line, will jump to life as never before. To all you who are going to live as long as I do, I promise to keep my word. I am writing this in my old age. I used to call myself Hokosai, but today I sign myself "The-Old-Man-Mad-About-Drawing."(The drawings of Hokusai, Introduction by Stephen Longstreet, Borden Publishing Co.)
