What is Animosity
Mission Statement
Animosity was founded on the idea that fewer skilled and geared up members
could do just as well or better than a larger guild with larger loot pools
where the loot distributution would be dilluted. Because of this, we ask
our members to be active and constantly try to improve their skills. Every
member is a core member of Animosity and is needed.
This is our calling in contrast to guilds
we’ve all been in where we’ve just felt
like a number,
where quite honestly it doesn’t matter. We cant win by sheer numbers, we
have to win by perfect execution.
We Strive to do more with less!
History
Animosity is a Horde guild in the world of Warcraft on the Khadger Server, we are a close group group of friends that have been together for a long time that strive to be better then the rest. Most of our members used to play a game called Everquest and where all under the Guild LoreKeepers, where we would complete events and kill bosses with half the members and gear of other guilds. In Everquest where where the Stike Force guild and we Will do the Same in World of Warcraft.
Animosity Defined: Here are some basic guidelines about who we are, what we are about, and how this guild will be run.
First and foremost, Animosity is NOT a democracy
Don’t treat it as such. If you do not like the way Animosity is run, feel free to leave. This guild will be run by the officer team and the policies that we use will be made available on the forums as soon as we get them hammered out. Sometimes situations will not be accounted for under our policies. This means we will make judgment calls on the spur of the moment. You will not always like the answer. It is also important to note that Animosity policies and guidelines are living documents, and they will change over time. We will do our best to keep them updated on the forums.
Currently, Animosity is a group of friends that are having fun together during the leveling process.
Animosity will be raiding
But NOT until the core of our membership has reached raiding level. WoW is setup for much more casual play, and most of us will be taking the time to enjoy the leveling up process. Ultimately, we want Animosity to be at the forefront of our server; as such, our membership levels will adapt to the environment that Blizzard establishes. Ideally, we will maintain a smaller membership so that we can remain a close-knit guild of friends.
Personal Conduct
Deal with profanity and personal jabs, use the word filter if you have to,
but don’t compalin about it. If it really bothers you that much, you’re
in the wrong guild. Most of us are friends here, please learn to take a
joke. On the same token, please respect your guild mates by stopping if
they say
you’re taking a joke too far.
There is a zero-tolerance for drama. If you want to cause it, leave now. The
officer team is not here to be a group of baby-sitters. We are here to
have fun and lead this group of friends to the riches that Azeroth has
to
offer.
We expect everyone to work together as a team. If you have problems with
an individual, be adult enough to speak to them about it directly and work
things
out; even if you have to agree to disagree. Just don’t
bring the guild into it. Excessive drama will result in you being removed from
the guild, period.
Help us out by not getting in the middle of someones personal battles with another
person. You do that, and we’ll do everything we can to keep us raiding and
bust our ass to serve this guild with as much energy and fun as we can
muster.
We
want Animosity to be a place where its fun to log into and play. If you cant
work it out on your own or are unwilling to, you will be removed.
As such we expect everyone to be helpful towards each other. We will not progress
to the top of the server if we are a group of selfish individuals. If you can
make armor for someone to help them out, please do so. But this goes both ways!
Help gather the materials if you can’t make the items yourself. We will all need
help with Elite quests; which means that we will be going through the same quests
more than once. If we have the patience to help each other, we will progress
much faster than you expect.
Fourms
We expect everyone to read the forums. If you are unaware of something that is
going on, it’s probably because you didn’t take the time to read it here. Ignorance
is not an excuse we’ll accept.
Loot
Everyone wants it, everyone needs it, and everyone will get it. Loot is
the single largest pain in the ass in MMORPGs and also the biggest reason for
unwanted drama. Be patient, we cannot give you every piece that you want every
time you log in. We will not be starting out with DKP, but we will likely end
up there as we approach the high-end game. Initial loot distribution will be
officer-decision – primarily based on last loot. (This is still being tweaked.)
Officers will also make certain exceptions on key items for key classes. If we
want to win, we must be well equipped and as we progress, the lead tank/healer/etc
will need to be decked out first. This does not mean everyone else will be excluded,
it just means that you may have to wait until the 2nd time we kill MobX before
you get ItemA. Again, patience is the key to our success.
Suggestions
Even though Animosity is not a democracy, it doesn’t mean we won’t listen to
suggestions. It just means that you shouldn’t expect us to implement everything
you suggest. If you have an issue that needs addressed, feel free to approach
the officers directly (in a civil manner) instead of starting an enormous flame
on the boards or building a revolution among a subset of the guild. We actually
do want to be successful and are willing to hear you out. If we disagree, we’ll
do our best to explain why, but we are not here to justify our position to everyone
and their brother. This is not a paid job, we are here to have fun too.
As we grow, and simply as time passes, officers will change. The number of officers
we have is primarily based on the size of the guild. New officers will be appointed
on an as-needed basis only. Seniority in Animosity does not mean shit as to being
qualified to lead. Don’t expect to be asked just because you’ve
been guilded for 12 months, nor is it a requirement for someone to have been
a member for X amount of months to become an officer. We will select officers
based on team compatibility and our perception of who will do the best job.
If you can handle all of this, great!
